1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, as well as information generated through your use of the app:

• Account Information: Email address, username, and password (hashed) when you register.
• Profile Data: Age, gender, height, and weight you optionally provide to enable calorie and pace calculations.
• Run Data: GPS route points, distance, duration, pace, and calories burned during each run session.
• Photos: Images you capture or upload during or after a run, associated with a run record.
• Health Notes: Post-run feelings and diary entries you choose to record.
• Device & Usage Data: Device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, and in-app interactions for bug fixes and improvements.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the AuraRun service.
• Calculate and display your running statistics, calorie consumption, and progress over time.
• Power the AI Coach feature, which uses your run history and profile to give personalized advice.
• Display your running route on maps and in your activity history.
• Send you notifications about your training (if enabled).
• Detect and fix bugs; improve app performance and user experience.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. Location Data

AuraRun accesses your device's GPS location only while a run session is active (foreground use). Location data is used to trace your route, calculate distance, and display your path on the map. We do not track your location in the background or when you are not running.

You may deny location permission; however, GPS-dependent features (route tracing, distance accuracy) will be unavailable.

4. Camera & Photos

We request camera access only when you choose to take a run photo. Photos you upload are stored securely on our servers and displayed within your run records. We do not use your photos for advertising or share them with third parties without your consent.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we strive to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 9).

6. Third-Party Services

We may use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Sign-In — For authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• AI Service Providers — When you use the AI Coach feature, we may share the information necessary to generate personalized coaching, such as your run history, profile details, and health notes, with AI service providers. These providers process this information on our behalf to deliver the AI Coach feature.
• Weather and Geocoding Providers — We may use weather and geocoding services to display weather conditions, convert location coordinates into map or place information, and improve route-related features. Requests to these providers may include location coordinates, timestamps, device network information, and related run context needed to provide these features.
• OpenStreetMap / OsmDroid — Map tiles for route display. Tile requests are made directly to OSM servers; see OSM Privacy Policy.
• Analytics & Crash Reporting — We may use anonymized analytics to understand how users interact with the app. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Children's Privacy

AuraRun is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete the information.

8. Your Rights (US / California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:

• Right to Know: Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information; no opt-out is currently required.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Residents of other US states with applicable privacy laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, etc.) may have similar rights. We honor these requests to the extent required by applicable law.

9. How to Exercise Your Rights / Delete Your Account

To request deletion of your account and personal data, please follow these steps:

• Send an email to contact@ratenowapp.com with the subject line "AuraRun Data Deletion Request".
• Include the email address or Google account associated with your AuraRun account so we can verify your request.
• Tell us whether you want to delete specific data, such as run records or photos, or delete your entire account and all associated personal data.
• After verification, we will delete or de-identify the requested personal data unless retention is required by law, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legitimate business purposes.
• We will confirm by email when your deletion request has been completed.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of AuraRun after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
